Sources: 57. Developments: 4. Director Quentin Tarantino is preparing for his theatrical debut with the stage play ‘The Popinjay Cavalier’. Scheduled to run at London’s Phoenix Theatre from March to June 2027, the production is a swashbuckling comedy set in 1830s Europe, starring Sacha Baron Cohen. Tarantino has confirmed he has completed the screenplay for his tenth and final film, but the project is currently on hold. He intends to prioritize the West End production, which he noted was originally conceived as a film script before he realized it functioned better as a stage play. Developments regarding his final feature film are not expected until at least 2028. In October 2026, Tarantino appeared on BBC One’s ‘The Graham Norton Show’ for his first appearance on the program in ten years. During the broadcast, he discussed ‘The Popinjay Cavalier’ and engaged in an interaction with fellow guest Ellen DeGeneres, noting he had never been invited to her former talk show. He further explained that following the conclusion of the play in June 2027, he intends to spend time with his family and ‘live a little’ before determining the next steps for his final cinematic project. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-19: Quentin Tarantino postpones final film for London theater debut Quentin Tarantino has finished the script for his tenth and final film but is delaying production to focus on his London West End theatrical debut, ‘The Popinjay Cavalier’, and his family. 8 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/quentin-tarantino-completes-script-for-final-film-1 ### 2026-10-17: Quentin Tarantino completes script for tenth and final film Quentin Tarantino has finished the script for his tenth and final film but will prioritize his 2027 West End play debut before returning to cinema. 19 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/quentin-tarantino-completes-screenplay-for-tenth-and-final-film ### 2026-10-16: Quentin Tarantino appears on The Graham Norton Show Director Quentin Tarantino returned to The Graham Norton Show to discuss his new West End production, The Popinjay Cavalier, alongside guests Ellen DeGeneres and Colin Farrell. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/quentin-tarantino-appears-on-the-graham-norton-show ### 2026-10-11: Quentin Tarantino to debut stage play in London's West End Quentin Tarantino will write and direct his first stage play, ‘The Popinjay Cavalier,’ starring Sacha Baron Cohen at London's Phoenix Theatre in early 2027. 32 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/quentin-tarantino-to-direct-debut-stage-play-starring-sacha-baron-cohen --- Cite as: Quentin Tarantino theatrical and film projects.
