Governor Mara Lezama Espinosa has conducted various public service and social assistance initiatives in Quintana Roo.

In mid-August 2026, the Governor held a ‘La Voz del Pueblo’ public hearing in Playa del Carmen. This event focused on community needs, including land tenure regularization, the delivery of property titles, and the distribution of medical aids such as prosthetics and wheelchairs.

Shortly thereafter, Lezama inaugurated the Fourth National Update Meeting for Victim Assistance in Cancún. Held in coordination with the Federal Executive Commission for Victim Assistance (CEAV), the summit brought together representatives from 19 Mexican states, federal authorities, and civil society organizations to strengthen institutional coordination and improve support strategies for victims of crimes or rights violations.

During the inauguration, Lezama announced that her administration has doubled its investment in victim assistance. Emphasizing a humanistic approach, she stated that while authorities cannot erase the pain of victims, they have a responsibility to ‘provide hope and help them rebuild their lives.’ Government Secretary María Cristina Torres Gómez reported that between January and July 2026, the State Executive Commission for Victim Assistance (CEAVEQROO) provided 11,423 assistance measures to 2,229 victims, the majority of whom were women.

The meeting, which included CEAV Commissioner Martha Yuriria Rodríguez Estrada, addressed critical issues such as the protection of children, femicide, human trafficking, and the integral reparation of damages.
