Developments: 6. Radomiak Radom is navigating coaching transitions and competitive challenges in the Polish Ekstraklasa. Following the departure of Tomasz Kaczmarek to Raków Częstochowa, the club utilized Rafał Grzyb as an interim coach. However, Grzyb’s tenure faced scrutiny after consecutive losses, including a 0-2 defeat to Piast Gliwice and a heavy 1-5 loss to league champions Lech Poznań. The club has been struggling near the relegation zone, holding only a two-point advantage over the bottom sixteen positions. Addressing the crisis, team captain Rafał Wolski stated on Instagram that responsibility for the poor performance lies with everyone from management to the players, remarking, “At a certain point, everyone must look in the mirror and ask themselves if they are giving their maximum so that this team functions well.” To address the instability, Radomiak Radom officially appointed English manager John Carver as head coach. Carver, who previously coached Lechia Gdańsk and Newcastle United, signed a contract through the end of the 2026/27 season, with an option to extend for an additional 12 months. Known for an offensive style of play, Carver took over a side struggling with the second-worst defense in the league. In his first unofficial appearance, Carver led the team to a 7-2 victory in a friendly match against Pogoń Grodzisk Mazowiecki. The match followed a unique format of three periods (30, 30, and 45 minutes). Radomiak demonstrated improved scoring efficiency, with Rafał Wolski, Manu, and Elves Balde each scoring two goals, alongside contributions from Ruan Indio and Ronaldo Lumungo. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-01: Radomiak Radom defeats Pogoń Grodzisk Mazowiecki 7-2 in friendly Radomiak Radom defeated Pogoń Grodzisk Mazowiecki 7-2 in a friendly match, marking a significant improvement in scoring efficiency under new coach John Carver. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/radomiak-radom-defeats-pogo-grodzisk-mazowiecki-7-2-in-friendly ### 2026-09-28: Radomiak Radom appoints John Carver as new head coach Radomiak Radom has officially appointed former Lechia Gdańsk manager John Carver as head coach through the 2026/27 season. 5 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/radomiak-radom-appoints-john-carver-as-new-head-coach ### 2026-09-21: Radomiak Radom faces crisis after heavy defeat to Lech Poznań Radomiak Radom captain Rafał Wolski has called for collective accountability following a heavy 1-5 loss to Lech Poznań and ongoing coaching instability at the club. 3 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/radomiak-radom-faces-crisis-after-heavy-defeat-to-lech-pozna ### 2026-09-20: Radomiak Radom seeks new head coach after consecutive losses Radomiak Radom may replace head coach Rafał Grzyb following consecutive losses.
