The municipality of Rafina-Pikermi has engaged in both international diplomatic exchanges and domestic public health recognition.

In early September 2026, Mayor Dimitra Tseva hosted a delegation from Beijing’s Changping District. The meeting focused on exchanging regional experiences, with discussions covering administrative structures, climate risk assessment through the European CLIMAAX program, and the strategic importance of the Port of Rafina. The Chinese delegation highlighted the coexistence of historical heritage and technological innovation within their district.

Later in the month, the municipality was honored at the 21st Panhellenic Congress of the Hellenic Inter-Municipal Network of Healthy Cities in Edessa. The award recognized Rafina-Pikermi for its social contributions and its work in health prevention and promotion via its Health KEP (Citizen Service Center).
