Cividale del Friuli has been chosen as the sole representative for the Friuli Venezia Giulia region in the Rai 3 television competition ‘Il Borgo dei Borghi’. The program aims to discover and promote Italian villages.

Local official Giuseppe Ruolo indicated that this selection follows the town joining the ‘Borghi più belli d’Italia’ in June 2025. The competition will feature weekly segments beginning October 18, with a final recording session planned for September 16 in Piazza Paolo Diacono. The winner for the 2026/27 period is expected to be announced on Easter Sunday.
