The Italian public broadcaster Rai has implemented structural changes to its channel lineups and identifiers. As of October 1, the 'HD' suffix was removed from all Rai channel identifiers on digital terrestrial and TivùSat platforms.

Furthermore, the educational channel Rai Scuola has ceased broadcasting on digital terrestrial channel 57, replaced by a new channel named ‘Italiana’ which focuses on Italian territories. While the linear channel has been discontinued, the Rai Scuola archive will be maintained on the RaiPlay platform as part of an e-learning project. This replacement of the educational channel has drawn criticism from political figures and academics, leading to a public petition and a parliamentary inquiry.
