Raipur Police dismantled an interstate fraud syndicate following a raid at a luxury resort in Khandala, Pune. The gang allegedly defrauded more than 100 wealthy individuals of billions of rupees since 2005 by claiming to possess a chemical formula for manufacturing real currency.

To facilitate their schemes, members reportedly claimed affiliations with the ‘D-Group’ of underworld figure Dawood Ibrahim. The investigation was triggered by a complaint from a businessman who lost 1.13 crore rupees. During the raid, authorities seized over 4 crore rupees in cash and chemicals used in the fraud. Seven suspects were arrested in Pune and transferred to Raipur, bringing the total number of arrests in the case to nine.
