Prior to their Scottish Premiership fixture at Dens Park, Rangers were favored to defeat Dundee FC, with analytics suggesting a 57% win probability following a seven-game winning streak.

However, the match resulted in a 2-2 draw. Bradley Fink opened the scoring for Dundee, but Badredine Bouanani equalized for Rangers before Nico Raskin put the visitors ahead with a long-range strike. Dundee secured the draw in the 69th minute through Callum Jones, who capitalized on a defensive error. The result prevented Rangers from moving to the top of the league standings, providing an opportunity for leaders Celtic to extend their lead.

Following the match, manager Derek McInnes faced scrutiny regarding tactical shifts, specifically the decision to drop striker Kevin Kelsy in favor of Ryan Naderi. While former manager Ally McCoist noted that the team showed improvement and is in a stronger position than two months ago, he described the draw as a disappointment in the pursuit of the title. Meanwhile, former player Alan Hutton maintained that the club’s expectation remains a domestic treble.
