Rav van den Berg, a 22-year-old Dutch defender at 1. FC Köln, has faced difficulties securing playing time since joining the club from Middlesbrough in August 2025. Reports indicate he has not played a single minute this season under coach René Wagner.

By late October, his situation became more complicated as he was sidelined with a muscle injury. 1. FC Köln sporting managing director Thomas Kessler stated that if his sporting situation does not change fundamentally by the winter break, the club will discuss potential loan or permanent moves with his agency. West Ham United has reportedly expressed interest in signing the defender during the upcoming January transfer window to add depth to their backline.
