Ravichandran Ashwin has provided commentary regarding the Indian national cricket team selection process. Following India’s 14-run victory against the West Indies in the third T20I in Indore, Ashwin addressed the competition for the opening batting slot.

He noted that Sanju Samson’s current performance is sufficient to prevent 15-year-old Vaibhav Sooryavanshi from entering the squad. Ashwin characterized Abhishek Sharma as an “indispensable part of the lineup” and a “fabulous player,” suggesting the primary selection choice remains between Samson and Sooryavanshi. India currently holds a 2-1 lead in the five-match series.
