Following a previous 5-0 victory for Real Betis in the UEFA Youth League, the clubs met in the Champions League league phase at La Cartuja Stadium. In their first encounter, Betis secured a win with goals from Abde Ezzalzouli and Gabri Veiga. In their second fixture at La Cartuja, Real Betis achieved a 3-2 comeback victory against FC Porto. After a scoreless first half, Abde Ezzalzouli scored in the 47th minute, but Porto responded with goals from Gabri Veiga and Samu Aghehowa to take a 2-1 lead. Betis recovered through an equalizer from Cucho Hernandez, following an assist from Antony, before Isco secured the win with an 84th-minute penalty after a VAR review of a foul on Ángel Ortiz. Porto manager Francesco Farioli noted that striker Santiago Giménez made a positive impact during his brief appearance, though Giménez received a yellow card shortly after entering the pitch. The victory moved Betis to six points in the league phase, while Porto remained without points after two matches. Following the match, FC Porto winger Pepê expressed frustration, noting that the squad ‘lacked the calmness required to maintain their 2-1 lead during the second half,’ though he highlighted a successful assist to Samu and noted the team must prepare for their upcoming challenge against PSV Eindhoven. Amidst the sporting success, Betis player Antony reported that his home in Seville was burglarized during the match. The Brazilian attacker expressed feelings of anger and insecurity, noting that while material losses can be recovered, the impact on his family’s sense of safety is significant. Real Betis has since extended its winning streak to three matches, securing nine points in the league phase following a 1-0 victory over Feyenoord at the Estadio de La Cartuja. ## Claims - Real Betis defeated FC Porto 3-2 in a UEFA Champions League match.
