Sources: 187. Developments: 3. Real Madrid has experienced a period of mixed results and administrative tension. In the UEFA Champions League, the club secured a late comeback victory against AS Roma at the Stadio Olimpico, trailing 3-1 before goals from Carlos Espí, Endrick, and Antonio Rüdiger secured a 4-3 win. This turnaround was facilitated by tactical substitutions, including the introduction of Arda Güler, Endrick, Bernardo Silva, Álvaro Carreras, and Carlos Espí, to exploit the Roma defense. On October 19, 2026, Real Madrid maintained a perfect start to the Champions League league phase with a 4-1 victory over RB Leipzig at the Santiago Bernabéu. Managed by José Mourinho, the team secured three consecutive wins in the competition, following previous victories against Inter Milan and AS Roma. After a slow first half where Leipzig created dangerous counter-attacking opportunities and required key saves from goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, Real Madrid improved significantly in the second period. Bernardo Silva opened the scoring in the 44th minute, marking his first goal for the club after capitalizing on a rebound from an Arda Güler shot. Arda Güler doubled the lead in the 52nd minute, assisted by Kylian Mbappé. Kylian Mbappé extended the lead in the 83rd minute with a strike from outside the box, and Yan Diomandé secured the win with a volley in the 87th minute, while Tidiam Gomis scored the lone goal for Leipzig in the 85th minute. During the Leipzig match, Kylian Mbappé played a decisive role, contributing one goal and one assist. His subsequent goal from outside the box brought his career total to 26 Champions League assists, equaling the record held by Zinedine Zidane and surpassing Thierry Henry’s total of 25. With these victories, Real Madrid moved to nine points from three matches, placing them fourth in the 36-team league table. ## Claims - Real Madrid defeated RB Leipzig 4-1 in the Champions League.
