Real Madrid manager José Mourinho has faced ongoing tension regarding officiating decisions. Following a defeat against Real Betis, Mourinho publicly questioned refereeing, leading experts to suggest his reactions might be a strategic attempt to pressure officials and raise concerns about the independence of the Spanish refereeing commission.

This tension continued ahead of El Clásico at Camp Nou. Following reports that the appointment of referee Martínez Munuera was leaked before official club notification, Mourinho expressed dissatisfaction during press conferences. While Barcelona manager Hansi Flick sought to avoid headlines, Mourinho’s reactions highlighted a continuing focus on officiating integrity and information leaks.
