The RAF Red Arrows aerobatic team has been forced to cancel several scheduled UK appearances, including the Airbourne: Eastbourne International Airshow, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week. 

The cancellations stem from the team being stranded in north-eastern Canada following a tour of the United States. Adverse weather conditions in the region have prevented the team from completing their Atlantic crossing. Because the team’s Hawk aircraft are single-engine and lack air-to-air refueling capabilities, the return journey requires a specific multi-stage route through Canada, Greenland, and Iceland.

While awaiting favorable weather to resume the transit, personnel are performing scheduled engineering work at Canadian Forces Base Goose Bay to prepare for their return to the public display programme.
