A modder known as nicklovin99 has developed the enRage mod for Red Dead Redemption 2, which utilizes AI to integrate a system similar to the ‘Nemesis System’ found in the Middle-earth series.

The mod assigns unique names, personalities, and memories to non-player characters (NPCs), allowing them to track specific feelings toward the player, such as fear, friendship, or hostility. NPCs can form friendships, betray gangs, or seek revenge, creating a more dynamic world. The system organizes characters into existing factions, including the U.S. Army and the Van der Linde gang, and tracks relationships across these groups.

Additional features include a hierarchy menu to monitor gang leadership and NPC sentiments, an interaction menu for interrogating injured enemies, and an ‘X-ray’ view to display physical injuries. The mod also simulates a living world where NPCs interact independently, engaging in activities like starting feuds or adopting pets, which can trigger gang wars regardless of player involvement.
