The Reggia di Caserta has initiated several cultural and commemorative programs. In late September 2026, the museum announced a call for participatory valorization projects for 2027, inviting non-profit organizations, academic institutions, and cultural cooperatives to submit proposals. These projects cover themes such as performing arts, digital languages, scientific research, and the environmental preservation of the Royal Park and its hydraulic systems.

Following this, the site announced the ‘Il Volo di Lunardi’ event scheduled for October 7, 2026. This commemoration of Vincenzo Lunardi’s 1789 balloon flight serves as the launch for the ‘Campania in the Sky 4.0’ project, which seeks to promote ballooning culture through 2027. The event includes a historical balloon replica and period costume parades, supporting efforts to propose ballooning as UNESCO intangible cultural heritage.
