# Regional beekeeping exhibitions in Montenegro

In Nikšić, Montenegro, the 23rd regional Honey Days exhibition brought together approximately 35 beekeepers from the country and surrounding regions to showcase bee products and exchange expertise. 

Participants noted that while beekeeping is becoming increasingly difficult due to climate change and prolonged droughts, producers expressed satisfaction with the quality of their yields, with some reporting 15 to 18 kilograms per hive. Beekeepers advocated for improved market positioning through stronger state support and branding, noting that Montenegrin honey is of a quality “comparable to the best in the world”.

Representatives from the Ministry of Agriculture stated that continued support would be provided through Agrobudžet to strengthen the sector. Experts at the event also emphasized the importance of bees as both food producers and essential pollinators for sustainable agriculture.
