Regional Cueca competitions in Chile have highlighted local student participation and cultural identity across different regions.

In La Araucanía, students from the Escuela F-90 ‘Raúl Castro Márquez’ in Mininco participated in a regional competition in Vilcún. While they did not reach the top rankings, the pair was recognized for their skill in performing ‘cueca campesina’.

In the Coquimbo Region, Monte Patria hosted a Regional School Cueca Showcase to select representatives for the 2026 National School Cueca Competition in Valdivia. This event marked the return of the showcase to Monte Patria after an 18-year hiatus and was supported by regional educational and governmental bodies.
