Regional football in Italy has seen recent tension and organizational shifts. Following a defeat against Ostuni, Ugento Vice President Cosimo Bellisario criticized officiating as ‘unacceptable’ and suggested the club might withdraw from the Eccellenza pugliese tournament due to recurring refereeing issues.

In subsequent developments, Ugento has shifted focus toward a new organizational project. Sporting director Gianfranco Francavilla stated the club intends to compete openly in upcoming matches, aiming to build a solid corporate foundation through steady progress.
