Regional festivals in Japan are scheduled for the autumn months of September and October.

In early August, preparations were underway for events in Aichi Prefecture and Okinawa. The 41st South Chita Town Industrial Festival in Aichi was set for 31 October at Toyohama Fishing Port, with vendor applications having closed in July. In Okinawa, the Tomigusuku Festival and Tomigusuku Industrial Festa were scheduled for 17–18 October, with vendor selection prioritizing local businesses.

By late August, details emerged for September festivities. In Fukuoka, the Hakozaki-gu Hojo-ya festival, a tradition lasting over 1,000 years, was scheduled for 12–18 September. Tokyo’s Suginami district planned the Umahashi Inari Shrine annual festival for 5–6 September, featuring Shinto rituals and dragon dances. Additionally, Yokohama’s Tomioka Hachiman Shrine Autumn Grand Festival was set for 20, 21, and 27 September, including the 800-year-old ‘Yutate Kagura’ ritual.
