In Punjab, the School Education Department has introduced revised winter timings for public schools, effective from October 16, 2026, through March 31, 2027. To combat declining academic performance, such as a drop in Class 9 pass rates in the Lahore board, the Directorate of Public Instruction has also mandated daily 10-minute tests and full monthly assessments for government students.
