In the Portalegre and Évora regions of Portugal, several sports-related developments have been announced. The Portalegre Football Association (AFP) is preparing for the 2026/2027 season with a new structural change where the district senior football champion will promote directly to the 3rd Division. The season is set to begin with the Taça de Honra on October 4, followed by the District Championship on November 15, and the senior men's futsal championship on October 3.

Additionally, the Portuguese Parachuting Federation has inaugurated a new headquarters in Évora. Local officials expect the federation's presence to boost regional tourism, hospitality, and catering sectors, building on the area's historical connection to aeronautical activities.
