The film ‘Watashi no Shiranai Kodomotachi’ (The Children I Do Not Know), directed by Miwa Nishikawa, follows the struggles of war orphans in post-war Tokyo. The story centers on a girl, portrayed by thirteen-year-old actress Ami Koyae, who disguises herself as a boy to survive on the streets.

To prepare for her leading role, Koyae underwent intensive piano training and cut her hair short. Following international attention at the Toronto International Film Festival, the cast held a stage greeting in Tokyo. During the event, Koyae discussed her hair transformation and interacted with veteran co-stars including Fumi Nikaido, Koji Yakusho, Junichi Okada, and Yutaka Takenouchi.
