The third season of the Italian crime drama ‘I casi di Teresa Battaglia’, titled ‘Figlia della cenere’, premiered on Rai 1 in October 2026. Based on novels by Ilaria Tuti and directed by Kiko Rosati, the eight-episode season follows profiler Teresa Battaglia, portrayed by Elena Sofia Ricci, as she investigates ritualistic murders in the Udine area of Friuli Venezia-Giulia.

Set five months after the previous season, the investigation involves a serial killer targeting individuals with hidden histories of violence against women, leaving victims with mutilated hands and crushed sternums. During the pursuit of an escaped killer, Battaglia discovers a connection to the early Christian mosaics of the Basilica of Aquileia, which leads to a final confrontation. The season concludes on November 2, 2026, with a two-episode finale that reveals a secret connection between the profiler and the killer, while leaving an open narrative thread regarding her abusive ex-husband, Sebastiano.

Alongside the criminal investigation, the season explores Battaglia’s personal struggles, including her battle with Alzheimer’s and threats from Sebastiano.
