Turkish actress Nurgül Yeşilçay has returned to television in the Ay Yapım production ‘Ömür Usta’. To portray the character Ömür Uçar, a single mother working in an auto repair shop, Yeşilçay underwent a year of preparation, including training in automotive mechanics and adopting a more natural appearance by ceasing hair dye and botox treatments. Following the series debut, the second episode aired on the NOW television network. The narrative focused on the emotional consequences of lies told by Ömür’s son, Mete, who attempted to hide his family’s lifestyle to avoid losing a companion named İpek. This led to confrontations regarding Mete’s feelings of shame toward his family.

As the series continues, the plot explores themes of family solidarity, social inequality, and the pressures of societal expectations. The story follows Ömür as she struggles to support her three children and mother-in-law through repair work amidst economic hardship. The series, which also stars Bülent İnal and Gonca Vuslateri, airs on Sunday evenings at 20:00 on NOW TV. The fourth episode, scheduled for October 18, 2026, follows the aftermath of a serious accident involving Mete and İpek that brings two families together in a hospital. As İpek fights for her life, Ömür’s decision to help despite Nevra’s hostility impacts Tunç and intensifies Nevra’s desire for revenge. The accident also results in significant debt for Ömür, forcing her to consider a new job to protect her son. Other storylines involve Nazlı facing difficult decisions due to Koray’s lies, and secrets regarding Yıldız’s assault affecting Gülsüm and Ömür. The fifth episode, scheduled for October 25, 2026, continues to focus on the tensions between the two families following the accident. The narrative follows Ömür’s efforts to manage the resulting financial debt and her sacrifices to protect her son, while Nevra continues her pursuit of revenge.
