The city of Alba Iulia is hosting religious events centered on the relics of Saint George the Pilgrim and the Holy Confessors of Transylvania.

Scheduled to arrive from the Văratec Monastery on October 20, the relics of Saint George the Pilgrim are being held at the Coronation Cathedral for veneration until October 22. The religious program includes a procession around the cathedral complex and a Divine Liturgy.

The commemorations also honor the Holy Confessors of Transylvania, including Visarion Sarai, Sofronie of Cioara, Oprea Miclăuș, Ioan of Galeș, and Moise Măcinic. These figures were active during the 18th century amidst religious tensions regarding the union with the Roman Church.
