The Rembang Regency government is pursuing central government assistance to address regional infrastructure and staffing needs.

In late August 2026, the Rembang Regent coordinated with the Directorate General of Bina Marga to secure funding for road improvement projects through the Inpres Jalan Daerah (IJD) program. Proposed works include the construction of the Banyuurip-Gunem and Banyuurip-Jape road sections, as well as widening and maintenance on other local routes. Final budget decisions are anticipated in November.

Concurrently, the regency is addressing challenges in the primary education sector. Authorities have proposed 84 elementary schools for revitalization assistance in 2026. While some projects are already underway with a budget of approximately Rp7.658 billion, the region also faces a shortage of 86 specialized Physical Education, Sports, and Health (PJOK) teachers, forcing general classroom teachers to cover these subjects.
