Major historical castles in Poland are undergoing extensive, multi-year renovation and modernization projects.

In Olsztyn, the Castle of the Warmian Chapter is closing for a modernization project costing approximately 76 million PLN. Scheduled to conclude by the end of 2029, the work includes structural and conservation efforts on the Baroque wing, towers, and façades, alongside accessibility upgrades and the construction of a modern library.

Similarly, Kwidzyn Castle is set to begin its largest renovation in fifty years in early September. This three-year project, funded in part by the European Union’s ‘FEnIKS 2021–2027’ program with total costs exceeding 64 million PLN, involves technical modernization and the creation of new permanent exhibitions while the site is closed to tourists.
