A significant apartment fire occurred at a residential building on Strîi Street in Bălți, Moldova. The blaze originated on the fourth floor of a five-story structure and spread to a balcony on the floor above.

Firefighters utilized an aerial ladder to rescue three individuals, including a minor, from a window. Six other people were evacuated via the stairwell to avoid smoke inhalation. One 40-year-old man received medical attention for minor burns. The fire was contained and extinguished by early afternoon. While the cause is under investigation, reports suggest the incident may have been caused by ‘smoking negligence’. This event follows a smaller fire in the same apartment two months earlier.
