Two Romanian officials have resigned from their respective roles, citing health concerns as the primary reason.

Ion Doldurea, the mayor of Caracal, stepped down following a serious road accident that required brain surgery. Although he attempted to continue his duties, a medical evaluation determined he could no longer fulfill his responsibilities. His resignation occurs alongside ongoing legal proceedings regarding his alleged past collaboration with the Securitate. Vice Mayor Laurențiu Pătran will take over his duties.

Viorel Caragea, a former police chief, resigned from his position as special administrator of Uzina Mecanică Sadu (UM Sadu) after six months. Caragea cited medical recommendations for his departure. During his tenure, he focused on inventorying assets and managing debts to local authorities and ANAF.
