The National Public Health Organization (EODY) reported that hospitalizations for influenza and COVID-19 in Greece have followed a downward trend since the start of 2026. 

For the week of August 24 to August 30, 2026, EODY recorded 33 new hospitalizations, consisting of 17 COVID-19 cases and 16 influenza cases. While COVID-19 hospitalizations saw a slight decrease from 20 the previous week, one death was reported. No new COVID-19 intubations occurred during this period. Regarding influenza, one 67-year-old woman required ICU admission due to laboratory-confirmed influenza type A.
