Authorities in Hanoi are investigating separate incidents of violent assaults at local restaurants.

In late July, a birthday celebration at the Quán Nhỏ restaurant on Vĩnh Tuy Street escalated into a brawl involving knives and a machete. The confrontation resulted in injuries to a male youth. Following an investigation by the Hanoi Criminal Police Department, authorities filed a public-order disturbance case against 14 participants on 1 August.

In late August, a different assault occurred at an eatery in the Thanh Pho Giao Luu urban area on Pham Van Dong Street. Reports indicate a group of approximately three young men harassed a woman and her boyfriend before attacking the man with physical blows. The group also reportedly insulted and assaulted bystanders who attempted to intervene. Local police are currently reviewing security footage to identify the suspects.
