Following disruptions caused by earthquakes in Venezuela in June, several airlines are resuming flight operations to and from Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, Caracas.

In early September, Air Europa and Iberia began restoring connections between Madrid and Caracas. Plus Ultra announced it would resume service from Madrid and Tenerife starting September 8, while maintaining its existing flights to Valencia. Other carriers, including American Airlines and Copa Airlines, have also moved to reactivate or resume connections to the capital.

Due to current infrastructure conditions at the airport, airlines are utilizing temporary terminals that cover approximately 25% of the facility’s usual capacity to facilitate passenger transit.
