Retailers in various German regions have scheduled special open-shop Sundays throughout October 2026, allowing commerce to occur outside of standard Sunday closing laws.

On October 4, participating areas include several towns and districts in Bavaria, such as Amberg, Straubing, and Berchtesgaden, as well as cities in Saarland including Saarbrücken, Saarlouis, and St. Ingbert. In Saarbrücken, the Europagalerie shopping center planned to operate from 13:00 to 18:00.

Following this, additional open Sundays were scheduled for October 11 and October 18, primarily across Bavaria. The October 11 openings were expected to span approximately 50 locations across Upper Bavaria, Swabia, Lower Bavaria, and Franconia, including Regensburg and Landshut. The October 18 schedule included a wide range of locations across Upper Bavaria, Franconia, Lower Bavaria, and the Upper Palatinate, such as Aschaffenburg and Passau.
