Rhein-Neckar Löwen experienced mixed results in recent Handball-Bundesliga matches. On September 27, the team secured a 30:28 victory against MT Melsungen, a win described as “successful revenge” following a previous loss in the DHB-Pokal. Goalkeeper David Späth was a key contributor to the win with 13 saves.

By October 2, the team played to a 30:30 draw against HSG Wetzlar. Although the Löwen established an early 7:3 lead, Wetzlar managed a comeback. Despite David Späth recording 16 saves and the team overcoming an injury to captain Jannik Kohlbacher, the match ended in a split of points.
