Musician Rick Wakeman performed original piano compositions for approximately 150 rescued Asiatic black bears at an Animals Asia sanctuary in Vietnam’s Tam Dao National Park. The performance, which included pieces such as ‘Dawn Reborn’ and ‘Moon’, was intended to celebrate the rehabilitated animals and raise awareness regarding the bear bile industry. Wakeman highlighted the ongoing plight of bears held in captivity for traditional medicine, noting that while the sanctuary houses 150 bears, an estimated 125 others remain in cages at old bile farms. He reported that approximately four deaths occur each month at these farms and expressed a desire to see the remaining animals moved to sanctuaries as quickly as possible. ## Claims - Rick Wakeman composed melodic piano music for rescued bears in Vietnam.
