Osaka-based confectionery brand Rikuro Ojisan no Mise is expanding and renovating its presence in the Umeda area. 

A new flagship store is scheduled to open on September 24 at Grand Front Osaka in the South Building B1 level. This location will feature an on-site factory for freshly baked cheesecakes and a 46-seat cafe named ‘Riku Cafe fika’. The new store design is intended to incorporate elements from the brand’s original 42-year-old shop.

In conjunction with this opening, the brand’s Daimaru Umeda location will undergo partial renovations starting September 24. This will result in a temporary suspension of freshly baked cheesecake sales at that site through November 23, though customers may still access pre-baked products via the adjacent ‘Plus’ store or the ‘Riclocker’ pickup service.
