The City of Rio de Janeiro, through RioLuz, has implemented several urban lighting modernization projects across the city.

Initial efforts focused on Parque do Cantagalo, where the installation of LED lamps, projectors, and anti-theft infrastructure was completed to improve safety and sports conditions for visitors. 

Following this, the city introduced a permanent scenic lighting system at the Arcos da Lapa using RGBW technology. This system allows the landmark to change colors for cultural events and awareness campaigns. Similar lighting upgrades have also been extended to various religious monuments, including the Metropolitan Cathedral and several historic churches.
