Dhruv Jurel has emerged as a significant figure in the generational transition of the Indian cricket team. Initially recognized for his evolution from a destructive finisher to a reliable red-ball batter, Jurel gained attention for a match-winning 90 during his second Test appearance against England in Ranchi and consistent performances in the IPL.

Following these developments, Jurel has been appointed captain of the India A squad for an upcoming three-match unofficial Test series against New Zealand A, scheduled for late October to early November. He succeeds Devdutt Padikkal in this leadership role. The India A squad includes several prominent players such as KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Washington Sundar, with Rishabh Pant’s participation depending on his fitness.
