Poland is experiencing a demographic shift characterized by a rising number of centenarians. National data from the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) indicates that the number of citizens aged 100 or older has increased significantly, growing from approximately 1,900 in 2018 to roughly 4,261.

Local reports highlight specific instances of this trend, such as in Lubin, where nine residents have reached the age of 100. Recent celebrations include Stefania Mazan in Zapole, who turned 101, and Stanisława Bąk in Krasnystaw, who celebrated her 100th birthday.

To recognize this milestone, Polish citizens who reach 100 are eligible for a monthly honorary benefit. As of 2025, this payment is 6,938.92 PLN gross. The benefit is provided automatically to those already receiving pensions or disability benefits, while others must apply through ZUS.
