In Argentina, the Río Negro province secured a USD 6 million financial agreement with the Buenos Aires province to support the state-owned company INVAP. The deal involves a guarantee provided to the Banco de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (BAPRO) through May 31, 2030, to fund a technological update for the NUR nuclear reactor in Algeria. 

The agreement, facilitated by the strategic importance of the nuclear industry, is backed by Río Negro’s hydrocarbon royalties and national tax participation resources, despite political differences between Governor Alberto Weretilneck and Buenos Aires Governor Axel Kicillof.
