Between January 2025 and August 2026, energy projects—specifically the Vaca Muerta Oil Sur (VMOS) pipeline—generated approximately 53.8 billion pesos in Gross Income tax revenue. Of this amount, municipalities received 14.25 billion pesos. Alejandro Palmieri, head of the Revenue Agency, noted that this influx of resources has allowed the province to maintain real tax increases despite national economic declines. The revenue collected over these 20 months is comparable to a single month of Gross Income tax collection or double the provincial real estate tax collected in 2025. Officials expect sustained revenue through 2027 due to ongoing pipeline operations and upcoming liquefied natural gas (LNG) projects.

These funds are being directed toward various provincial efforts, including the approval of municipal infrastructure funding. Specific allocations include over 20 million pesos for urban equipment and curb construction in Río Colorado, 57.6 million pesos for land surveying in El Bolsón to facilitate property title transfers, and 80 million pesos for surveying plots in Ingeniero Jacobacci. These works are part of broader initiatives involving transport master plans and sewage treatment systems.
