The film ‘Rocky’ is marking its 50th anniversary through a series of global commemorative events. Amazon MGM Studios, Park Circus, and Fathom Entertainment have organized a worldwide theatrical re-release of a 4K-restored version of the 1976 film.

In Philadelphia, the anniversary includes ‘Rocky Season,’ featuring community events such as the Joe Frazier Run/Walk, themed bus tours, and visual projections at the ‘Rocky Steps.’ Sylvester Stallone has also released a memoir, ‘The Steps,’ to coincide with the festivities.

The celebrations include the upcoming biopic ‘I Play Rocky,’ directed by Peter Farrelly and starring Anthony Ippolito, which explores Stallone’s experiences developing the original script. In Mexico, the cinema chain Cinépolis has opened pre-sales for the 4K re-release.
