In his memoir, ‘I Am Roland Mouret: The Butcher’s Boy Who Dressed the World’, fashion designer Roland Mouret describes a dispute that ended his friendship and professional relationship with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex. Mouret alleges the rift was caused by a professional misunderstanding involving a studio assistant. While attempting to organize the return of loaned garments, the assistant mistakenly contacted the stylist for Kate Middleton at Kensington Palace rather than contacting Meghan directly. Mouret claims this error revealed a private lending arrangement to the Princess of Wales’s office, causing Meghan to feel deeply humiliated. He reports that during a confrontation, Meghan stated, ‘You don’t realise what you’ve done! You’ve embarrassed me! I will never wear one of your dresses again!’ Mouret emphasized that the decision to end the relationship was made entirely by the Duchess and was not imposed by the Royal Family. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-27: Roland Mouret describes conflict with Meghan Markle in new memoirs Designer Roland Mouret claims Meghan Markle ended their fashion collaboration following a dispute over a misplaced clothing return involving Kate Middleton’s stylist. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/roland-mouret-describes-conflict-with-meghan-markle-in-new-memoirs ### 2026-10-17: Designer Roland Mouret claims Meghan Markle ended friendship over stylist mix-up Designer Roland Mouret claims Meghan Markle ended their friendship after a staff error involving Kate Middleton’s stylist caused a perceived public embarrassment. 6 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/designer-roland-mouret-claims-meghan-markle-ended-friendship-over-stylist-mix-up --- Cite as: Roland Mouret memoir claims regarding Meghan Markle.
