Romanian and Moldovan athletes have achieved success in international sporting competitions. 

At the European U15 and U17 Weightlifting Championships in Kosovo, Romanian athletes Alexia Șipoș and Maia Delia Andrei each secured three gold medals. Șipoș set two new cadet European records in the snatch and total within the 53 kg category, while Andrei set three continental records in the 49 kg category. Romania’s total performance at the event included 15 medals: 6 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze.

Moldovan weightlifter Ecaterina Vîlcu earned a bronze medal in the U17 45 kg category. Additionally, Moldovan athletes secured two bronze medals in the kayak-canoe discipline at the World University Championships in Hungary.
