In late July 2026 the Romanian Cultural Institute launched the “Un‑hidden Connections” project in Belgrade, Serbia. Using the Cantemir Programme, the initiative reinterpreted Constantin Brâncuși’s sculptures through urban art, displaying 14 Romanian street‑art pieces on 18 panels, hosting public debates, workshops and live performances that paired Romanian artists with Serbian musicians. The aim was to present Brâncuși’s legacy to Serbian audiences and strengthen cultural dialogue across the Romanian‑Serbian border.

A week later, Romanian museums highlighted the sculptor at home. In Brașov, the Museum of Urban Civilization turned its shop into a tourist draw, offering handmade crafts by local artisans. In Bucharest, the National Museum of Art reopened its Brâncuși Hall after the sculptor’s largest signed collection returned from Rome under heightened security, with free‑admission exhibitions.

In early August the Brașov museum shop continued to serve foreign and Romanian visitors, while the Museum of Local History and Ethnography in Brad hosted a special event featuring portrait displays by Ana‑Maria Oprea and a “pictopoezie” workshop for children and adults. The National Museum of Art also re‑opened its Brâncuși Gallery, now displaying the full signed collection with free entry on the first Wednesday of each month. An upcoming exhibition, “Echoes in Heritage,” will open on 10 September at Sutu Palace, showcasing a donation of 70 paintings, sculptures and decorative works by BCR, emphasizing 20th‑century Romanian art.
