Wide receiver Romeo Doubs experienced a significant shift in his 2026 season with the New England Patriots. Initially, Doubs showed a strong rebound from a difficult season debut by recording a career-high 96 receiving yards during a 20-3 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

However, during a subsequent 26-19 win against the New York Jets, Doubs suffered a shoulder injury while catching a 42-yard touchdown pass. The Patriots subsequently placed him on injured reserve, with expectations that he will miss at least four games. Doubs becomes the third wide receiver for the team to be placed on injured reserve this season, following A.J. Brown and Mack Hollins.
