Sources: 4. Developments: 2. RTL Hungary is undergoing editorial shifts and programming adjustments. Kata Márkus has stepped down as the editor-in-chief of the morning program ‘Reggeli’, with Ádám Jakab, editor-in-chief of ‘Fókusz’, set to assume temporary leadership on October 26. Márkus’s departure follows a controversial campaign involving actress Dorka Gryllus and the retailer DM. During an October 12 broadcast, Gryllus exhibited physical symptoms, such as trembling, as part of a staged campaign to raise awareness about menopause symptoms. While RTL expressed support for the initiative’s social goals, the company acknowledged that the execution caused disappointment. The incident has prompted investigations by the Hungarian Competition Authority and the Self-Regulatory Advertising Board, alongside internal investigations regarding a lack of staff notification. In other programming news, the talk show ‘Heti Hetes’ is expected to return to the airwaves in late November following an October hiatus, potentially returning to its Sunday broadcast slot. ## Timeline ### 2026-10-22: RTL Hungary editor-in-chief departs following controversial campaign RTL Hungary's editor-in-chief of ‘Reggeli’, Kata Márkus, is leaving her post following a controversial menopause awareness campaign that triggered regulatory investigations. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/rtl-hungary-editor-in-chief-departs-following-controversial-campaign ### 2026-10-20: RTL Hungary undergoes programming and editorial changes RTL Hungary prepares for the return of the talk show ‘Heti Hetes’ in late November while replacing the editor-in-chief of ‘Reggeli’ following a controversial undisclosed advertisement campaign. 2 sources. https://clstr.news/cluster/rtl-hungary-undergoes-programming-and-editorial-changes --- Cite as: RTL Hungary editorial and programming changes.
