In the Córdoba province of Argentina, several rural schools in the San Justo department are operating with an enrollment of only one student each for the 2026 school year. These institutions include General San Martín in El Fortín, Guillermo Enrique Hudson in Pozo El Chaya, and Facundo Quiroga in La Quemada-Tránsito.

These three schools are part of a broader group of 35 rural schools across the province that currently have single-student enrollment. In these settings, a single teacher typically serves as both the instructor and the director. 

Governor Martín Llaryora stated that the province is prioritizing education to ensure access regardless of geographic location or economic complexity. To support students in remote areas where terrain or weather makes traveling to urban centers impractical, the government has implemented a satellite connectivity plan for all 821 rural and mountain schools in the province.
