The Russian U15 national football team has returned to FIFA-sanctioned international competition in Baku following a four-year exclusion related to the invasion of Ukraine. During the FIFA World Championship and Festival, the team secured a 12-0 victory over Sudan in their opening match.

Head coach Denis Pervushin expressed optimism for the team and hope for future participation in higher age categories, though he declined to comment on the political implications of the tournament or the absence of the Ukrainian federation, which declined to participate due to the presence of the Russian team.

Following the group stage, the team secured first place in its group with a perfect record of five wins in five matches, scoring 44 goals and conceding only one. This performance has advanced the team to the elite playoff stage of the World Cup.
